Cousin Eddie's robe.....

So little man has been fighting a cold, he's had a stuffed up nose all week. He's been falling out early so we've missed bathtime most of this week. We decided that he was getting clean no matter what tonight. So I took him into the shower to wash him up then filled the tub to give him a vapor bath to help clear up his nose. I had found a robe for him this week in the closet that I completely did not realize was in there. We decided to put it on him tonight. I was somewhat skeptical if it would actually fit because it was size 9M and he's getting pretty close to moving to 9-12 months clothes. So we put it on him and his bum and winky were totally hanging out below the hem. I was in tears I was laughing so hard, he looked like a flasher in a short trenchcoat. Later, Jason said, he looks like Cousin Eddie (Christmas Vacation) in his robe! Too funny.

Merry Christmas to all!

PS-No pictures were taken of this!

Santa Paws

Back in October, Gloria sent home this outfit for Jeff. I never would have seen it since I never shop at Macy's. I got my Christmas wish today when Jeff and the dogs posed for pictures together. The dogs were rewarded with rawhides afterwards. They've always been pretty trained for pictures, Jeff is falling into line in that regard so far.

Stop calling me Archie Bunker....

Little man basically lost all of his hair on the top of his head. My mom said he looked like Archie Bunker. I said that he was getting his dad's hair line. Well, it's growing back and it looks like we're getting the toe head we thought we would. New nickname, fuzz butt.
He sure loves that rice cereal!

I spy with my little eyes....

a dachshund! Jeff noticed Fonzie sitting next to us for the first time on Saturday and reached for him. Fortunately, Fonzie is pretty tolerant of the ear tugging. He keeps looking at Jeff like, pet me.

Little piggies

Someone found their feet and he loves them.....

Ick, I mean elk

Jason got an elk yesterday morning. I'm sorry, I'm just not into dead animals like he and Roscoe are. It grosses me out that their tongues are always hanging out like that.

When I grow up, I wanna be like my daddy

Notice the camo and dad's smile. What you can't see is that Jeff was wearing camo pants too. I keep telling Jason that it will be a few years before Jeff can go hunting.

Num...

Jeff started waking up repeatedly last week wanting to eat so we decided it was time to start the rice cereal. He seems to love it so far. We've had some patience issues so usually feed him a little of a bottle before the cereal so he's not screaming waiting for food.

First High Point visitor

My friend Justin was in town for work last week and was kind enough to come to the house to visit us and he got to meet Jeff. Fortunately, Jeff was in a good mood for the visit so Justin will stop by the next time he's in town. I can't wait to take Jeff to High Point sometime to introduce him to all of the folks on the half of the country!

The first ornament...

For the first time, we had a ceremonial first ornament on the tree. It was the baby's first Christmas ornament we bought at Disney World quite awhile back. I have to confess though - most of the ornaments are off of the tree. Our tree fell over thanks to our ghetto tree stand the day after this so I removed the majority of the ornaments until our new stand arrives from Costco.

O Christmas Tree

We went on our annual tree hunt with the Masterson's the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Jeff had a blast in the Baby Bjorn taking it all in. We found a nice noble fir this year. I am partial to douglas firs but told Jason we could change it up this year.
All smiles after the hunt....
Remi loves babies. She actually rode down in the truck with us so she could spend more time with Jeff. Stacie told me she actually wrote an essay for school talking about how she hoped she could ride in the car with Jeff too cute.

First Thanksgiving

We have much to be thankful for this year - our happy, healthy little turkey.

Aunt Susan came to visit!

Right after my mom left, Aunt Susan came to stay with us for a few days while she was working in the area. Jeff just loved her and we had a blast visiting with her.

Sniff sniff

My mom leaves tomorrow morning to go back to PA. We've had a great time with her and enjoyed all of her fabulous cooking. Our freezer is full of meals ready to go which will make the coming hectic holiday season a little easier. We keep hoping that my mom will be able to move here, she's missing so much not seeing Jeff on a regular basis. Tomorrow will be a sad day.

So cool....

It was sunny out yesterday and we were heading for a shopping expedition before our dr appointments so I had to see if he would let me put on the shades. He cooperated for some pictures but was done pretty quickly.

Roll over...

There've been some big changes in the house this week. Little man started rolling over from his back to his stomach. At first, he was only doing it every now and then. Now, it's all of the time. Last night, he started rolling over in his crib. It was very nerve wracking for mom to let him sleep on his tummy. I had just talked to the dr about it that day at Jeff's 4 month appointment. She assured me that it would be okay. I woke up at 5AM to use the restroom and went to check to make sure he was still breathing. Tonight when I put him down on his back, he immediately rolled over to his tummy. I guess he must like having a choice of sleeping positions. He weighed 14 lbs 9 oz and measured 26 inches at his appointment yesterday.

Kisses

Grandma and Grandpa stopped by today. Jeff was loving the kisses, he was laughing up a storm. A few minutes later, meltdown started to set in and he's now asleep.
I think I'm all caught up with the blog now!

Grandma's here!

My mom is in town for the next week to help out since I had to have my gall bladder surgery. After an attack a couple weekends back, I decided that I was done and had to get the surgery done. Jeff is having a great time with her. Mom is tired and sore but recovering well.

Crinkly....

Someone is finally starting to like toys. His favorite so far is this crinkly lion. I don't know if it's the noise or what. He spends lots of time gumming him these days.

Airborn!

This is one of the new things that Jeff loves, it usually calms him down when he's starting to get fussy.
As you can see, Dad likes it too.

Meeting the girls

We went over to Kim's house for dinner a couple of weeks ago and Jeff finally got to meet all of the girls. The adults had a great time visiting amidst the chaos. Gia and Elle were quit smitten with "baby."

Halloween

I had lots of fun buying Halloween outfits for little man. He loves his mummy......

Both of our hot dogs....
He's batty for mommy.....
Our little monkey man...
None of these are actually on Halloween. He was super cranky so we didn't put him in either of his costumes. We can't wait for next year, we already have his sock monkey costume!

East coast visitor

It's an extreme rarity but someone from my family was in the area for work. My cousin Andy was in town a couple weeks ago. He came over for dinner and got to meet Jeff. Andy has a 7 month old son. I sent pictures from my phone to family members too. His mom totally missed at first that Andy was holding Jeff, she thought it was him with her son. I think my aunt needs to lay off the late night wine!

Jeff's girlfriend

We had a goodbye party for my friend Jenn who was moving to NC. We took this opportunity for pictures of Jeff and Makenzie. Makenzie was born 6 weeks early, she's only 11 days younger than Jeff. It's too funny to see the size comparison of the two.

The Great White Hunter

Jason was up bright and early at 4:30 to go deer hunting this morning. Of course, I was already awake feeding Jeff but got to go back to sleep eventually. Jason called me around 10 and I was shocked when I asked, any luck? He responded with, Yeah, a big 4 point! I hate hunting season. I swear every year that I am going to kick him out of the house because hunting is the only thing he seems to care about. I guess I have his attention partially back....until elk season starts.

Happy birthday Allyson

Allyson turned 2 on September 28th. They waited to have her party until today so Oma and Opa could be at the party all the way from Holland. We got our first ever picture of all of the cousins with Jeffrey included. Bryce was quite helpful in holding up Jeff since he can't quite sit up on his own.
All in all, Jeff did great. He only took a 20 minute power nap at the party so we ended up rushing out so I could get him to sleep in the car. He slept the whole way home then almost another hour after we got home. Meltdown avoided.
We both survived my first week back to work. He is adjusting quite well to daycare. I am getting back into the swing of things at work. I discovered on Friday that I have gallstones so surgery is very likely on the horizon for me. Not fun.

Bumbo!

We started putting Jeff into the bumbo seat the other day and he seems to like it. He's sitting up pretty well, he likes that way better than tummy time. He's doing great though - sleeping through the night now, usually until around 5 am which works out well for me going back to work tomorrow. :( I am so not ready to leave him.

Are you ready for some football?

Uncle Troy bought Jeff this cute football outfit and he usually ends up wearing it every Saturday or Sunday while he lounges on the couch with Dad watching football. It cracks me up that he will sit still and appears to be paying attention to the games.

Thumbs up

He's found his thumb. We're trying really hard to keep him from sucking it but there's only so much we can do. Here he is passed out in his swing, too cute. On a brighter note, he fell asleep around 9 last night and didn't wake me up again until 3. Keep your fingers crossed for me that we're turning a corner here!

Rooster tail

Jeff has quite the cowlick on the back of his head. It's actually in the same spot as Jason's. I tried to take a picture zoomed in but am not sure you can really tell how bad it sticks up. After he got out of the shower the other night, it looked like the entire back of his head was sticking straight up. Too funny.

2 month portraits

Our little man is proving to be quite photogenic. His hair sure does look red in these pictures!

1 month portraits

Exactly a month ago, someone came to our house to take pictures of Jeffrey for his 1 month portraits. We placed a monster order and they finally arrived today. I bought a CD with all of the images and picked some of our favorites to post. Of course, we took him last weekend to get 2 month portraits and we're picking those up tomorrow. I can't believe how different he looks now compared to just a month ago!

Future farmer

I love all of the tractor clothes that Gymboree has for sale a few months back. I made sure to buy some in all sizes so Jeff would have something to wear that had a farm theme. I can't believe that he's 2 months old already. He weighed 12 lbs 9.5 oz at his 2 month check up. We took him to meet our daycare lady yesterday and I started crying when I was there. I am so dreading October 11th but trying to enjoy each day between now and then. Life with him is so much better since we figured out that he had colic. If you know anyone in this boat as well, tell them about Gripe Water. It has been a life saver for us, you can get it at the drugstore.

Time out

Fonzie got in trouble for picking up a plum in the backyard and bringing it into the house and onto the couch to eat it. When he knew he was in trouble, he ran into the kennel. Duke was already in there though. This happens often when the Fonz is in trouble. I couldn't resist taking a picture. Notice that Duke looks like he's in trouble too even though he's not.
