Snips and snails and puppy dog tails....

It was like Christmas at our house tonight. The baby's bedding arrived via UPS this evening. In addition, the cute fleece blanket you'll see in the pictures below was finally found by the post office. I bought it off of eBay, it was delivered on Saturday but we don't know to where as it was not delivered to our house. I can't wait to paint the room and get everything together. We ordered furniture last weekend so now we just wait....

Family ties

One of the highlights of our trip was having dinner with my Great Aunt Ida and Great Uncle Howard. They really are a hoot. We were in hysterics the entire time. Troy got sassy with my Aunt Ida and she gave him the finger - the look on his face was priceless.

More fun in Vegas

Congrats to LeAnn and Stan!

The whole reason for our trip was to attend LeAnn and Stan's wedding. Congratulations to LeAnn and Stan!

Sir Fidel

So, some of you reading the title of this post are probably going, who in the heck is Sir Fidel? Sir Fidel is the name of my sorority's mascot who is a fierce lion. I missed the lions at the MGM the last time we were in Vegas. Not this time! We got to see some pretty cute lion cubs as well, they were 18 days old at the time of these pictures. So cute! It was $200 to spend 5 minutes with one cub. So tempting but way too expensive! I had fun in the gift shop afterwards buying lion stuff for the baby.

Nursery update

Sorry for the lack of updates (and pictures) but life is a little crazy these days. Saturday, Kim was kind enough to go register with a clueless girl like myself. I was relieved to get that done but even more overwhelmed to realize just how much crap a little baby requires. Wow! I did end up finding some bargains along the way - snowman shoes on clearance at Babies R Us for $6.70. The supreme find was the SleepSack at Target. Kim saw it and grabbed it because it was on the clearance end cap. We tracked down a clerk when we couldn't get it to scan and ended up finding out that SleepSacks are online only items at Target. So, they marked it down to $4.96 and I bought that sucker!

Operation room transfer (spare room into our former office) is moving right along. I also scored some 20% off coupons at Babies R Us which I am saving to use on nursery furniture. We changed our mind on the nursery theme, we were going to do Mickey Mouse then I found puppy dog bedding last night that made my heart melt. After much prodding and pleading, Jason gave in. It's really not too much of a surprise I guess. I can't wait to get creative with the artwork for the walls!

The longest dog...

I have very casually been collecting random baby clothes over the years on the off chance that Jason could finally talk me into doing this. Almost all of them are dog related, probably 90% of them have some form of a dachshund on them. Come on, are you really that surprised? I went through the tub on Monday night to sort out sizes and discovered that I had way more crammed in that tote than I ever realized. I was looking at it tonight when both Fonzie and Roscoe followed me in. I jokingly put the bib, "The Longest Dog" on Fonzie then had the lightbulb for this picture. So you get to see the baby bump a little too, really not much to see. This baby is hanging out very low....

And it's.............

A BOY!!! Baby cooperated for the gender determination (see below) but was not so cooperative for cranial pictures. The tech eventually got them but I am sore after all of the prodding with the ultrasound wand. I never thought that could actually hurt. Baby is moving around at the moment and says hi.
