Congratulations Brandon and Loreen!
Our whole reason for our trip to Florida was to attend my friend since junior high, Brandon's wedding to Loreen. I have actually known Brandon for 20 years. He and I were pretty much best friends throughout high school. He could always have his pick of the ladies (which he would modestly deny to this day) but was never down with the drama of high school girls. My best girlfriend from jr. high and high school used to joke that the girl that won him over deserved a trophy but we didn't think that anyone would ever get the trophy. I thought about giving one to Loreen as a joke but I wasn't sure if she would think it was funny and didn't want to accidentally offend her. In any event, Brandon's sister actually lives out this way in Mukilteo and Brandon comes out to visit periodically so I usually see him once or twice a year. When he told me that he had a girlfriend with him on one of his visits, I was stunned in a good way. When I met Loreen, I was happy to discover that he may have found the one. Brandon proposed last June while they were in Ireland together.
These 3 guys were inseparable all throughout jr. high and high school. From left to right, Chuck, Brandon and Jake. They were in a cover band named the Derelicks together. I still have their cassette which Brandon saved a copy of for me since I was away at college during their sales drive. I seriously have not seen Jake for probably 13 years and he looks exactly the same as the last time I saw him.
Since we looked halfway presentable, I actually got a nice picture of us together. Notice the big orange bus in the background....
This was the getaway car for the entire wedding party. I had no idea about this but Brandon owns this with 7 other guys. They bought an old school bus and did it up Gator-style. All of the seats have been ripped out and replaced with couches and bunk beds. They take this up to a UF game and can crash in it after a game. Really clever idea if you ask me. It just totally cracked me up that such a vehicle exists. I'm not hatin but no rivalry on the West Coast can come close to how crazy people are about all SEC college teams.

10 years
Friday was Jason and I's 10th wedding anniversary. We went out to dinner with my Aunt Holly, her fiance Bud and Bud's Dad, John. John skipped out early so we missed him in the pictures. The drink special for the night were $4 Long Island Iced Teas. Jason and I realized on Saturday morning that we were a little too old to drinking those.

Sink, a sink!
We worked most of the day yesterday at getting the upstairs bathroom back in order. Have I mentioned how much I hate the angles of our walls? The picture below is to show off the molding.
Jason had SO much fun working on plumbing. (That's sarcasm.)

Like looking in a mirror?
I was in straighening up the spare room today and Fonzie wanted up on the bed. He immediately went over and climbed just about the fabulous weiner dog pillow that Tracy made me. The light bulb went on to get a picture. Camera was downstairs. He jumped off the bed. I made him re-pose which is why he looks so annoyed but I still thought it was a cute picture.

Bad mom
Tonight, I cut Fonzie's toenails. I messed up and cut 2 of them too short and made a major boo-boo. Notice the bandaid on this paw. I feel so bad about it. I got him wrapped up in his blankie and he's now passed out asleep next to me as I type. Think good thoughts for the little hot dog's tiny foot.

Barna family
My Aunt Terry asked me what I wanted for my birthday earlier this month. I reminded her how much I wanted a copy of the family portrait from before my great uncles went off to war. I bought a frame for it this past weekend. It's the first picture that I put back out in the house now that things are getting back into order. The next time you're at the house, ask me about it so I can tell you who everyone is.

Comforting
We worked on the downstairs bathroom this weekend. The paint color is called comforting, picked out by my fabulous friend Troy. I LOVE this color. The light fixture and mirror are new. We are waiting to install the molding before putting in the new vanity. Jason did a great job putting up the wainscotting. We had an issue with the upstairs bath and had to have some plumbing move before we could put up the wainscotting or go any further than painting it.
