Gross desserts

I went out to dinner with Troy and Sarah on Thursday night for our monthly date. Yes, those are green onions in our dessert. Take my advice, avoid the Lemon Leaf Restaurant in Renton.

The little things....

We have been trying very hard to make sure that we love every little thing that we put into the new version of our house. The door knobs for our coming new interior doors are pictured below. I am so excited to install them!

New arrivals!

Our bedroom furniture arrived today! We are so excited to not be living out of our ghetto rubbermaid tub dressers any longer! I will try to get better pictures. Unfortunately, the walls/angles in our room do not allow for the best pictures!

What a difference a day makes...

Yesterday......
Today....(I LOVE crocuses!)

The day in review

Everything is coming together very nicely. The dogs got some rest and so did their dad. I was getting ready to start painting the second coat of paint in our room and Jason crashed on the couch. It didn't last long, the dogs started barking and woke him up. You can see the new color in the last picture of Roscoe, it's some seriously bright blue.

Hardwoods are done!

Okay, we are only partially ghetto house now. We have awesome new flooring throughout the house but nothing is in the right place. Jason came home from work early today to work on getting things in order. I am having to wash everything in the kitchen. Cabinet doors are still off and the amount of sawdust that was kicked up was insane. I wish they would have said, you might want to cover those with plastic or something. If there is a positive, it will be the most extensive spring cleaning that I've ever done! Our new dining room table is in the house but we have to wait to move until there are men willing to help. I can't life it at all it's way too heavy. We have sat at it twice already and it's really nice not having dog nose on the table! More to come this weekend!

Tile!

The tile has been installed and grouted in the bathroom downstairs. It has to set overnight. If all goes according to plan, we can get the new vanity in there tomorrow night.
The computer room is painted and all set for molding. We ran out of time for clean up though.

Hardwood installation begins tomorrow. Here is the carpet matched up with the hardwood...
And the tile matched up to the hardwood flooring, we can't wait to see our house tomorrow after work!
Fonzie was exhausted from all of his interrupted sleep today!

Fonzie got a new bed!

I finally talked Jason into letting me buy one of the little mini couch things from Costco for Fonzie. He loves it as you can see. Roscoe seems to like it too. I don't know if he realizes that he doesn't fit!

Carpet!

The carpet was installed today. Everything looks great and we are so happy to not be walking on the icky subflooring. The dogs seem to like it too. It was a rough day for the guys. They're all passed out and I'm up blogging! We moved our bed back upstairs but not much else. I am looking forward to NOT walking up or down stairs to get to a bathroom in the middle of the night. In case I didn't mention this before, the downstairs bathroom is gutted pending the tile work next week. Hardwood installation starts on Monday, woo hoo!

New stairs

On Monday night, Jason sprung on me that in addition to everything else, he wanted to re-do the stairs. I was thinking, no way does he have time to do that. Fighting ensued. Then he started actually working and I realized he was replacing the steps NOT rebuilding the staircase as I had thought he was doing. It turned out very nice, the dogs helped out where they could.

Roughing it but surviving

I think the dogs are having fun with all of the chaos. They do their best to help when they can!

Kitchen update

Jason and I painted primer coat #2 last night. I think they're looking pretty good. We have to search for new cabinet doors this weekend so we can pick out the white paint to match the doors.

Ghetto House

Okay, thanks to moving everything out of the upstairs into the downstairs to prepare for carpet installation, we are living in ghetto house. All of our projects are somewhat tied together. The hardwoods don't match our kitchen cabinets so we're painting them white. We have to paint them PRIOR to the new floor installation so I will not paint the new floors. (And trust me I would!) So below is coat 1 of the primer, thank you Carrie and Gloria for helping!

Ghetto garage, lost of crap out there. A couple things are now gone thanks to sales on Craig's List. We got a new dining room table and chairs, but left them in the box!
Ghetto closet #1, those are 2 new chairs holding up the rail. We had to take out our closet thing so the new carpet could be installed.
Mattress thrown on the floor in the living room. The dogs love it, they think we're camping. I'm sure Fonzie has laid in bed all day.
Everything imaginable shoved in the corner.
Ghetto closet #2 - our front door is blocked. Please call before stopping by. We have to let you in through the garage.
Ghetto computer set up. Yes ladies and gentleman, I am using the side of a trash can as my mouse pad!
Stay tuned for updates! I hope you laughed at my narrations!

Measuring spoons....

Grandpa entertained Allyson while her mom was helping primer our kitchen cabinets on Sunday. Everything seems to be fair game for Allyson's mouth these days. Lots of drool...

The Boogeyman

We're getting new floors in the house and were working on clearing out closets and everything upstairs because we're starting with carpet upstairs. For whatever reason, Roscoe became obsessed with the closet in the computer room. Every time we let him in, he immediately ran upstairs and into the computer room to check out the closet. If the door was closed, he would lay in front of it and whine. I have no idea. My mom thinks Roscoe thinks the Boogeyman is in there. My friend Troy told us Roscoe had found our spot where we hid the bodies. Even with the carpet out now, he still keeps checking the closet. We have no idea why. Oh Roscoe.....

Roscoe's first duck

This picture is from the last weekend of duck season. Roscoe got to go and get his first duck. He won't pose for pictures like Fonzie and Duke do. It makes me crazy!
