The wonders of technology
We went today for our 3D/4D ultrasound. If you are wondering what in the world you're looking at below, it's a funny story. Baby is low, really low, hunched into the left side of my pelvic bone. He was sound asleep and had no intentions of moving. I can't quite make out all of the details but here's how he was positioned. His fingers are over his nose and he actually has his foot up over his head with his toes going into his eyes as well. You could tell he has a face but he had it covered. I just don't see how it could be comfortable to sleep like this.
The technician seriously could not have been any nicer. She sent me out in search of a sugary drink (after verifying that I did not have gestational diabetes) to see if that would get him to wake up or move. So, we went over to McDonalds where I began drinking Coke as fast as I could while sitting in a very comfy chair in front of the fire but partially laying on my side. He seems to move more when I'm on my side. I finally felt some stirring so we rushed back. I got back on the table, he was still asleep but had been kind enough to move his hand and leg. His foot was still kinda next to his head so he had toes in his eyes. Nice right? He seemed to respond to my voice when I said certain things so we actually saw him open his eyes and smile a bit. And the tech could see parts so we know absolutely 100% for sure that he is really a boy. I was paranoid to start washing clothes until we went today. I think he looks like Jason with my nose, any other thoughts?

Our first baby shower
One of my best friends and sorority sister, Denise, threw an amazing shower for me last Saturday. The food spread was awesome including Chick-Fil-A nuggets. My Aunt Terry was kind enough to bake a chocolate cake with my favorite frosting as well as Italian Cream Cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Yum!
Here's a picture of Denise and I
Going to Carolina in my mind....
I went to North Carolina this past weekend for a baby shower with my family and friends. Lindsay, my grand little sister, is the advisor for my sorority chapter. Friday night was their formal night and Lindsay asked if we wanted to see the girls off on the buses. Of course, I was in! We got a group shot in the lounge. It was so fun to see all of the girls dazzled up in their formal gowns. So much has changed since I was in school, it really made me sad remembering just how excited I was for my first Carnation Ball because it was so long ago.

Baby's room
It was with great anticipation that we started moving things into the nursery this weekend. Roscoe watched from outside the door.
Thankfully our neighbor Andy was available to assist as this girl is not lifting furniture these days. Jason has said that movers will be responsible for getting the armoire out.
Fonzie and Duke were pretty excited to see the crib....
Jason worked on assembling the crib on Sunday. It actually didn't take too long and he said it was easier than a lot of things we've bought from IKEA.
The big dogs enjoyed the birds eye view. I think I am seeing into the future this summer. Let's hope they don't bark and wake up sleeping baby......
Roscoe found a new hiding place while we were tying on the bumpers.....
The front view of the bedding and the crib.....
Looking down into the crib. And to all of you who may be concerned, I know that you're not supposed to have bumpers on the crib. They look pretty cute and he's not sleeping in there so they're staying for now. I can't figure out for the life of me why the bedding sets include bumpers and a comforter that you're not supposed to use.
Posers
The mutts have been enjoying the sunshine quite a bit lately. I grabbed the camera because Roscoe looked pretty cute next to our apple tree. Of course, he took off as soon as he saw me standing in the doorway so that moment was lost. I captured some different ones though.....

The life of a model is exhausting.....
The nursery is painted
The nursery is painted! Check out the color on the wall behind me. I decided I'd consent to a belly shot since people have been asking. Of course, Fonzie had to pose with me. Jason had to get the hat that Fonzie is modeling. We keep getting yelled at that we're not allowed to buy things but this was too irrestible.
If you can't read it, the hat says "I Hunt for Hugs."
